Hi,

Once connected over VPN, can they browse shares on the servers?
Next, how you VPN into the office? Is it windows VPN, Cisco VPN?

Last, how do you know 100% the password is correct? Can it be it has numbers entered from the numeric keypad which wasnt enabled?

yes can browse files ok and now using hamashi logme in and it works fine.
I have put password into note pad and done a copy and paste even
So i suppose this client can also login OWA without problems?
no cannot logon to OWA
Ah... there are several ways you could try:

<loginname>    sure you have tried this

<loginname@domainname.extension>      scott@contoso.com

<domainname.extension\loginname>        contoso\scott

What does this do?
401 Invalid Credentials
I can assume the exchange server is configured to use Integrated Windows authentication?

What browser and version do you use? If it is IE, check "Enable Integrated Windows authentication" is on in Internet Options.

If so, remove cookies and passwords via IE Option, restart IE and then try again.
No difference
Explorer 9
Are you able to check the IIS logs on the Exchange server? In this stage i need to know the sub code for 401.?
Its really the outlook I want to get working could it be a license issue
sorry its explorer 8 on the exchange
We need to know what IIS is reporting, from there we can further diagnose.

I dont believe it is a licence issue.
where about is IIS logs
If default on exchange server in c:\inetpub\logfiles
Hi again,

The logs are piled up with 401.1 and 401.2 which give me the feeling something is not correctly configured on the server.
There are 2 remedies described here, please have a look. (this tries to solve the 401.2)

For the 401.1 either you entered wrong credentials or you could try to enable 'basic authentication' in IIS.
After trying to workout reset user password and test by remoting in with owa

password is not valid with user name
