Making an imagemap using the magic wand

I'm starting from scratch...

I'm making an imagemap of the United States and I'm wanting to make sure before I engage in the painstaking process of tracking every x and y coordinate of the various polygons / states that I'm not overlooking some method that I'm not familiar with.

There are certain states that can be highlighted using the magic wand. Is there a way to take that magic wand tool and grab the various x and y coordinates that comprise the shape that's being highlighted?

Hoping there's an easier way...

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Don't know about PS but how about an easier way

Just click around the states and it will build the html for you.
