Quickbooks Audit Trail

In our Audit Trail Report, there is a transaction that "Transactions entered or modified by Unknown user".  What does this mean and how is it properly addresses. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

It suggests that this ledger (Company File) was originally set up without a user name. Assuming that to be the case, there is not much you can do going backward.

Going forward, enforce user names and passwords including an administrative user name and password.

To monitor changes (modification, renaming, deletion, moving) of files in specific folders or share folder in your file server you can Enable Auditing by native auditing tools of windows

Secondly you can go with any third part solutions for windows server auditing in case you can take a look at this : http://www.fileserverauditor.com/

These tool give you proper report with user and IP addresses from where modification is done
