New Tape Drive

Hi Experts,

We are looking are replacing our tape drive but are unsure which brand to go with, usually we go with HP however we have just been made aware of Tandberg.

Has anyone used both and has advise or a recommendation.

Looking for any feedback on either please.

Look forward to reading your expert comments.

IMHO as with most professional equipment it does not really matter what you buy. They will all do their job well or can break. I had broken HP drives, Tandberg Drives, Quantum Drives - but never IBM, since I know few people with IBM drives.
For tape drives, there are only a few  manufactors for the internal hardware and every vendor uses these parts.

The only reason for buying one brand over the other for me is the support they offer and the replacement time. For instance, I buy HP because I have good connections to their support and get parts replaced quite fast. The situation is different for you, for sure ;)

We have always used HP drives because of the support that have provided when we needed it and the durability of their drives.
