Team Veiwer Presentation Alternative

Hay guys. I need a free software for making an online presentation and one that will go through a router. I can use port forwarding of course. The only thing I can find in Google is software like PowerPoint, but I need live presentation tool. So that a user can connect to me and watch my computer.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It says for the free plan I can't use chat and phone, but I can use Skype instead, right?

peeaCommented:
Yes, Skype can be used for chat and phone call.

Actually, for online presentation, i think what TeamViewer is missing is just online whiteboard and drawing tools. If you have PowerPoint, its built-in drawing and presentation tools can be used as a full replacement.

Another free one is join.me (from the LogMeIn folks):
https://join.me/

They also have a paid version (Pro) but the free version may be able to do what you want. Here's a comparison of the features:

I agree with Joe, I have used the logmein123, it works really good,  if you can be on the phone at the same time even better
you install a small application on their pc
you log on to the other person's computer  they allow you and agree and you're there live on their desktop using their mouse to show them how to.
Or vice versa have them log on to your PC and watch.
It uses a fair bit of internet so do please check your internet quota.

Important update: LogMeIn has stopped offering the free version!

Another free option that hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread is Google Hangouts:
http://www.google.com/hangouts/

It's free, of course (part of Google+), and they recently added a remote control feature (less than a year ago). I've used it several times in the past few months and it has worked very well. Regards, Joe

Hi IncognitoMan,
Don't mean to be a pest, but I'm trying to clean up a number of open questions, and noticed that another month has gone by on this one. Please provide an update. Also, wanted to let you know that the LogMeIn folks are no longer providing a free version. They're still offering <join.me> for free, but not LogMeIn. The good news is that there have been numerous other suggestions of free products in this thread. Please let us know where things stand. Thanks, Joe

Joe this is truly abandoned as I said earlier it was asked on the 17-09-2013 nearly 7 months..
I received some emails that a comment was added by you. ;)
I used to do things like this too, now it's only if the question is fairly young.
I read up a bit how EE works and would like to share it with you if I may..
It goes into a special place so that the cleanup crew will come along and resolve it. Every time we post a comment it takes it off the this abandoned list and moves it back into the open questions.
Since our upgrade things have changed again,
these days when a question nolonger get responses within 3 days the mods ping him, he has 14 days to respond  if still no response the question is moved to the administrators zone abandoned, or a mark is put next to it.. and until the asker requests his question opened again he his locked out till he does.
I think they simply never come back and then it's up to the mods to delete them or ask us who participated.
Because the abandoned questions run into thousands upon thousands now there is just too many for our dear volunteering cleanup crew to deal with so these new protocols have been put in place.
I agree it is disrespectful as we volunteer our knowledge and also to the whole EE effort to exchange.
I find the reason they go abandoned is when the asker doesn't get his answer in the first 4 comments and loses interest.
So now I have moved the abandoned question back into the open questions with good reasons I hope.
If your interested in how it works as they can explain better than me.
It's really quite interesting and good to see their terms of use are now. I feel it is for the benefit of all experts who volunteer here.

Hi Merete,
Thanks for taking the time to provide details on the abandoned question issue — I appreciate it! I have an entire browser (Opera) devoted to EE and I keep many questions in which I'm participating open in tabs. I go back every so often to look at ones where the asker hasn't responded, in the hopes that a ping may bring the member out of the woodwork. Occasionally it works; usually it doesn't. What surprises me is that some questions get picked up by a CV in just a few weeks, while others (like this one) can go for months (being clearly abandoned!) without a CV jumping in. It's the latter cases where I hope that my ping to the asker can bring the question back to life. Probably not going to work on this one. :)  Regards, Joe

Our little ping's all help Joe .
I do the same occasionally and sometimes it works sometimes not .
Sometimes we the experts who have contributed get into a bit of fun rap and inundate his mailbox with humour ;)
Looking in his account this was last the question. Go Figure.

The question is for a free TeamViewer alternative, i.e., so a user can connect to the asker's computer and watch it. The following posts all answer the question and should all be considered solutions:
