Adding a local room resource to a received meeting request through Outlook

I receive a lot of meeting requests from external people for meetings at my premises, i then have to create a separate appointment in my outlook calendar adjacent to the received meeting request in order to book a room resource.  If i forward the original invite to a room resource the auto attendant does not process the booking.

Is there a way in Outlook / Exchange to add a room resource to a received meeting request?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Unfortunately, the way you are currently doing it in the only way. Since you are not the meeting organizer, you cannot change the attendee list and will need to create your own parallel meeting to book the room resource.
