Hello Experts,
I would like to know exactly what are the steps so that a Win 7 VM Guest machine can detect a USB key when plugged into the physical USB port of the ESX.
I am using ESX 4.1.0.

HOW TO: Add and Connect a USB Device to a Virtual Machine, hosted on VMware vSphere Hypervisor ESX 4.1 ESXi 4.1, ESXi 5.0
Not all USB devices are compatible, not all USB ports on a server are compatible.
If you have no luck, come back and ask me questions.

Hello Experts,
In the ESXi console under configuration and Advance Settings it tells me " Host does not support passthrough coniguration", I have also called my Server vendor and the server BIOS does not support this feature as well.
Any other suggestions to get this to work ?

"Host does not support pass through configuration" means your Host Server DOES NOT Support VM Direct Path I/O.
This is VM Direct Path I/O, which is a different function to USB Passthrough.
USB Passthrough is not dependant upon VM Direct Path I/O

Thanks I tried this but the key is still not detected. Other USB devices are.
It seems this dongle key is not supported because when i try to detect it with a tool from the vendor it is not found.
I believe I will need to host this on a physical host.
Thank you.
