DPM 2007 backing up files on fileserver running Server 2012

Hi Experts

I am shortly replacing a Windows 2003 file server with a new one running Windows 2012 Standard. At present I have a separate backup server running DPM 2007 on Windows 2003 which backs up the fileserver.

I am trying to find out if I can continue to use the DPM to backup the Server 2012 user files once I have moved them over from the old server. Will the DPM agent install on server 2012? Does anyone know of any issues if it does.

Have tried searching but not found a definite yes or no.

Thanks in advance.

I am sorry but i don't think so it will support Windows 2012 Server ( Protected Agent )

the only option is for you to Migrate DPM2007 to DPM 2012 to get this working.

Thanks for that, I suspected that would be the case but thought as it was only files I was backing up not SQL or Exchange it might work. Guess I might try installing the agent when I get the new server just to see unless anybody out there has already tried it.
