I found a peculiar situation in AD. I have one user account that i can't reset the password to to the same password. All of the other user accounts i can.

I  have checked the password policy and the user account is covered in the same password policy. all of the user's attributes are the same as the other users as far as i can tell.

Dont have the cannot change password box checked?  Try temporarily setting the user account to password never expires.  This will override Group Policy.  Save the changes, reset the user password to the same again and see if it works etc.

What are your password complexity settings? You haven't accidentally got part of the username / alias in the password have you?
