Your APC UPS has a Network Management Card?

Not sure which one  but I found this on the APC site

Youll have to scan the network using the config utility which has kindly been provided in the post above. Its pretty simple to configure once you've connected.

Normally a network device default config is to use dhcp.

Check your dhcp server you might be able to find it going thru the list.

You should be able to narrow it down based on the names in the list.

Also here is a nice tool that helps you scan your entire ip network

thanks again for your reply....
my dhcp gives 192.168.1.x ips....do you think .... apc will take the same ip automatically & i will be able to do the LAN search or scan my LAN IPs using this software to get the ip of my apc...

pls advice..

thanks....

Yes it will take the same ip address from the dhcp range for sure.

If it is plugged into the same lan switch as the rest of your network.

The ip address scanner will help you narrow down your ip addresses.

Do you know the dhcp pool 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.150 as an example.

That's  were you can start to look.

Here is the documentation page for that UPS.

http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SURT10000RMXLI&total_watts=200&tab=documentation

It sounds like it might have had an IP assigned to it before. if so, you can go through the process of resetting the UPS back to it's original configuration and default IP. At that point, the instruction in the manual should all be correct and lead you in the correct path.

The network cable coming out of your cable router, T1 or other ISP equipment should be connected to the UPS. You might need to apply an updated IP address to it before this connection is made.

Hope this helps.
