Can I use Win2003 TS licenses for Win2012 TS?

Hi, we have a Win2003 terminal server with TS per device licenses.  We are replacing this server with Win2012 and also running TS.  Can I use the existing TS per device licenses?  We only have 10 TS per device licenses.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No, you cannot.  Even CALs are not usable from older version to newer.

Rule of thumb for Microsoft licensing:

-You can use a newer license for an older product, but you cannot use an older license for a newer product.

If you have software assurance, contact your sales rep to pursue getting upgraded licenses.
