Exchange 2010 relay

We have some applications and a CRM system that use our Exchange 2010 servers to relay smtp emails.

When they were pointing to Exch 2003, there were no delays, but now they point to Exchange 2010 there is a 5 second delay per email.

I have changed the receive connector maxdelay to 0 but looks like the issue is still  happening?

We have a DAG in place and Sophos AV on the servers.

If there anything else I can change or tests to perform to resolve this?

Outlook is fine.

Thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Where is the delay happening? Do you see it in the headers?
Did you put the relay on a dedicated connector or modify one of the defaults? 5 seconds is the tarpit delay I believe.

Simon.
