how to commit changes from my drupal site

Dear experts,

I am trying to know how can I commit changes I made on my drupal site to my git repository.
For example today I created two pages, about and contact. when I when to terminal and wrote git commit -m "message" it says there is nothing to commit (working directory clean). So I wonder, how can I do it then? should I just commit the database? I am really confused, could could please help me?

Thanks in advance,

Winter

Drupal stores all of its content in the database, so your codebase wouldn't change when you add content. If you want the database to be part of your git repo, you'd need to export the database into your codebase.

See this module for a simple way to export your database from within Drupal:

oh, so the only changes i would have to commit are the ones I made to the js and css files right?

js, css, .tpl.php, module, etc. -- all of the code files can (and should) be versioned. You can also take advantage of the Features module to export most of the site's configuration into code. That's a bit more advanced, but it takes a lot of the configuration and "non-content" stuff and makes it versionable. And portable to other sites.
