"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Download and install the SQL Native Client 10 (if you don't already have it).  Look for 'Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 Native Client' under "Install Instructions" on this page:  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16978  Then you need to get a login for the database you want to use and put it in one of the connection strings on this page and put it in your code:  http://www.connectionstrings.com/sql-server-native-client-10-0-oledb-provider/    This page talks about using VB6 with SQL 2005 but the code should be the same for SQL 2008.  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb264566%28v=sql.90%29.aspx
