What is the ASCII code for Excel Code 146 ?

I'm trying to establish what the ASCII code is for an apostrophe character in a cell.
I did a CODE() on the cell and it returned 146.

Yet when I translate that number as an ASCII code it doesn't show as an apostrophe, but converts as a AE diphthong.

Bit confused on this subject. Are there two apostrophe characters ?

Asc(dec) for Apostrophe is 39

Ah right. Thanks for that. I can see the difference on an Excel sheet now. My list of Extended ASCII characters shows Dec 146 as a diphthong AE, but it displays as a single quote as you state.

Many thanks for that.
