IE 10 Excel Data Validation Popup

Hello all,

I have a user that is trying to open an excel file for training on sharepoint. "I get a pop-up stating the browser does not support “Data Validation” & it asks if I want to open the file in Excel.

This user is worried other people that he deals with on the outside are going to be calling him about the notification. Is there any way to turn it off or disable it?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
