Easy - PLease convert from Apple Document to Microsoft Word

I have been given a document in Apple (pages) format and I want them as a Microsoft Word Document.

(I have googled for a solution but nothing seems easy?)

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Pages can output a document in Word format. Have whoever sent it to you send you a .docx version.

I don't know of any inexpensive way to convert a Pages document on a Windows computer. You are going to have to do it from the Mac end.

The Pages file format is actually a composite file which includes XML, all image resources and a PREVIEW as a PDF document

If you just need to be able to VIEW the pages document you can do the following

1. Save the file locally on your windows computer.
2. Right click on the file and select rename.
3. Remove .pages extension and enter .zip as the extension and press enter.
4. Open the zip file and it will allow you open the file and its contents.
5. Inside the QuickLook subfolder there should be a PDF file which is a preview of the document.  It is not editable but fine for viewing or printing.

If you need to EDIT the Pages document you'll have to revert to the creator and ask them to EXPORT the document as a Word DOC file as per strung's advice above.
