Dell PERC 6/i RAID5 Volume Non-Destructive Expansion

I have Poweredge 2950 server with PERC 6/i which running out of space. I successfully replaced all HDDs with larger sizes new HDDs previously and rebuilt. Now I wanna gain te new space and expand the Virtual Disk space (only 1 VD).
I don't have Open Manage installed on this server unfortunately.

How can I complete this task?

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can't.  Online Capacity Expansion (OCE) doesn't work that way.  It works by ADDING additional disks to the array ... for example, converting a 5-disk RAID 5 to a 6-disk RAID 5.

When you replace each drive with a larger one, the ONLY thing you can do with it is create a second/separate RAID 5 across the disks utilizing the extra space.  This will show up in the OS as a separate "disk".

If you can't add additional drives to the array and want a single VD, then the proper method is to backup, delete VD, replace drives, create larger VD, restore.

You may run across something called a "retag", but it is a side-effect of an unrelated operation and will cause your array to become unstable - sounds perfect, but don't use it for this purpose.

Can Dell OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node (Windows),v7.3 be installed on the OS and achieve what I asked above?

No. OMSA is the interface with the controller that can be used to perform any supported function (including Online Capacity Expansion). The controller simply is not capable of doing the operation you had hoped to perform.
