Moving a Companyweb Calendar to Office 365 Team Website

Hi Guys,

I have a problem i am migrating from an old SBS 2003 server running a companyweb internal webpage to a Windows server 2012 essentials + office 365 environment.

Mostly everything is going smoothly but i have a problem. On the companyweb webpage there is a Team calendar and i need to export or copy or move this to the new sharepoint website. I have created a new page and created a new calendar but there are no options to import i have tried a few ways but none seem to work for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Steve

I cant remember with '03, but typically when you export a list, it exports as a .stp file.  with that file, you upload it to the SharePoint list gallery, and then create a new list based off of it

Where do you export the list from have not seen that option?
OK found the export and have imported as a template to office 365 but where is the option to create from what I have imported
I have been looking for hours and this is running me round in circles, I have the list imported into the "List Templates" section under the "Web Designer Galleries" section. But when I go to site contents I can find no way of creating anything from my template
I just exported a list from my test 2007 environment and uploaded it to my O365 List Template Gallery.
Now, when I click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select "Site Contents", I see a list of all the current lists in my site.
When I then click on 'add an app', I have two pages of various lists I can add - when I goto the second page, I see my list that I exported as a template available to be added.

This is not what you see?
I have attached some screenshots of what I have. When I go to the second page of "add an app" I cannot see my uploaded .stp file. I have attached some screenshots

I dont see a 'Product Version' or "Feature ID' field in your screen shot - do they exist and were just cut out of the screen shot?
those sections were cut out but they are empty I have just checked, is the file not being read correctly? I have exported the template from a sbs 2003 environment
is there another way of importing the data as I can also export it to a xls file
there are 3 years of appointments so manual entry is not an option
I know that Metalogix can import 2003 objects into 2010, but i have a feeling that wont work.

you can try this: http://tom-dw.blogspot.com/2010/06/importing-sharepoint-2007-list.html

But again, I dont know how well that will work, coming from '03.

If there are over 5,000 entries in this list you may run into the problem of list throttling - you can deal with it in an on premises installation, but i cant imagine that MS would give you access to adjust the list throttling settings in O365.

You might need to put in a support ticket and just ask them what the supported methods of importing data into Office 365 are
I have tried the tips recommended in the link but it still does not seem to recognise the imported template when I go to the add an app page.
you will probably have to use a third party tool then

i have fixed the issue, the defualt Sharepoint site was not set to the same timezone or local as the calendar i imported, you can change those settings under. Site Settings - Site Administration - Regional Settings.

I have raised support tickets with MS and the office 365 support and they have not been able to give me a solution, the support from them has been extremely poor as i have had to take 5 days of searching and experimenting to make this solution work.

I hope it saves somebody time in the future
if my answers to my own questions are not clear enough i will gladly provide further information for anyone who needs it.
