Bootstrap Modal not working in newer versions of IE

My new site uses a bootstrap modal button for a dialog box.  In IE10 the screen fades but the dialog box doesn't appear. It works in older versions and other browsers.

I have added the following codes to the page, but it doesn't seem to be helping.

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge">
<script src="js/html5shiv.js"></script>

The site is done in WordPress if that makes a difference.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have you used either Chrome console or firebug (firefox) to see if there are any javascript errors or missing files. Sometimes that can be an issue.

I just now removed the fade class from the modal script and that seemed to fix it. Something so little.
