How do I specify next screen on a SharePoint Newform or Editform

I am passing a user a link in an email directly to a NewForm and or EditForm (SharePoint List) which works, but when the user completes he form I want it to either route to thanks1.aspx r thanks2.aspx which is simply a thanks message.

I tried

http://URL?ID=##&SOURCE=http://thanks1.aspx

This does not seem to work???

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,
can you please confirm that you have:
- URL encoded the source parameter
- the source url is not relative but fully qualified
?

Hi,
I meant that your query string parameter should be URLEncoded and that the url is fully qualified (including the domain part) like
&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fdev%2Erainerj%2Elocal%2Fsites%2Fee%2Fpages%2Fthanks2%2Easpx

URLEncoded means that a "/" would become "%2F", a "." would be "%2E" ...

Hi,
are you sure that the source parameter is correct?
I am not sure if it is possible to host an HTML file inside of a list - the file should be inside of a document library.
Another question: is your NewForm from the email link opened as a dialog in IE?
Thanks.
