How to create Set-Up (ie .msi file) of a project programmatically in Vb.Net?

You do not do it programmatically, unless you already know the format of a msi file and are willing to put everything in place.

It's easier to do it with a tool that is provided when you go in File...New...Project...Other Project Types...Setup and deployment. What you find there will change depending on the version of Visual Studio.

If you see InstallShield, go for it because it is the only tool that is still available in Visual Studio 2012, so you won't have to start anew for eventual updates when you will move to newer versions of Visual Studio. Otherwise, use what is available there.

This will create a new type of project that will generate a .msi when you build it. It is intuitive to use if you are used to Visual Studio. The View menu and the Properties window are basically the tools you use to give the specifications for the installation.
