IOS 6 apps that may not work on IOS 7 & IOS 7 features

I have hundred over games  & apps (local bus service, GPS, streetdirectory,
& even an software for autists to use to learn to talk called Proloquo2Go) :
will these apps continue to work if my iPhone 5 & iPad retina upgrade to
IOS 7?  If apps can't work, do I just reinstall them for each individual app?

Is IOS 7 more user-friendly?  Does it make Wasapp & apps run faster ?
If I don't upgrade now & rather wait for IOS 7.1 or 7.x to come out, will
more bugs / deficiencies be fixed by then & I'll get a more stable IOS?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Here is a list of apps and their compatibility:
The chart is not helpful. If I were you, I would wait a week or two before upgrading to give developers a chance to upgrade their apps.

I have upgraded my two iPhones to IOS7 (three days ago)

Q1. All of my apps worked - no breakage. I suggest you research your most important apps. I noticed 2 or 3 app upgrades in the minutes prior to going to IOS7, so keep your apps very current.

Q2. This depends on your point of view. I can use it just fine. I do not need "cool" to make things work for me, so I was happy with IOS6 as well.

Q2(a). I don't think IOS7 is faster, but it is not slower either. I did not see a change in speed. It did take nearly a half hour after upgrade for all the apps to be recognized.

Make sure you have a current backup before upgrading and I strongly suggest you upgrade via iTunes and not over the air. iTunes will back up your phone.

So I can only speak to the Proloquo2Go app. We are a non-profit that uses this app and as of the update it is working fine without issue.

I read somewhere (sorry, I don't recall where exactly) that Apple's App store will soon have functionality that will only offer the "latest compatible version" of apps, so that newer versions of apps will work on older systems.

Likewise, new versions of iOS are backwards compatible and older apps will continue to work.

I have had IOS 7 running for nearly a week now and no issues at all. It looks to me that it is safe to use.
