Can't do a Win Explorer search on hybryd drive

I installed a Solid State Hybrid drive and it works fine except I can't do a search of the drive. What I do to search is I make a backup copy of the drive on to a SATA drive and search the SATA drive. I'm wanting to be able to search the Hybrid Drive, can anyone tell me how to do this?

Type of drive: Seagate 1TB Solid State Hybrid Drive SATA 6Gbps 64MB Cache 2.5-Inch ST1000LM014.
Windows 8 OS.

Thank you,
Dave

In Windows Explorer, go the Search Tab. Under Advanced Options, look at Change Index Locations. You can add the drive here, I think.

Now adding the drive to Indexed locations may have to be un-done at some point, depending on how you use this drive (is it always attached).

However, I think this is the place to get Search to look on the hybrid drive.

I installed the search fixit and it did not fix the problem with scanning the hybird drive. I'm wondering if making it the B: drive might be the issue, but it's set to have the b: drive indexed. I can search all other drives, just not the hybird drive? The hybird drive works fine except for not being able to scan for files on it?

I hope the hybrid drive formatted with ntfs.

Reading this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307844 suggests b: is a removable drive if floppy is not used. Try a different drive letter (e:-z:)

The hybird drive is formated as NTFS, I will try changing the drive letter.

I ended up moving the drive to the F: drive and then I started having memory problems and refreshed the computer and it started working. It also turned out that I had a bad memory chip, not related to this problem.
