Whats wrong with this layout

Been trying for hours to correct this page:
The google ad displays all the way to the left and top of the page.
I have double checked everthing many times.
What is wrong?

Because you are applying the following style directly to it
.leftcolumn {
    left: 0;
    position: absolute;
    top: 10px;
    width: 180px;

Open in new window

As to where it should be I don't know....?

I must be missing something
I thought the page styles over rode the style sheet if
they are after the reference to the style sheet
Depends, inheritance is quirky, if the other css is targetted from another element then the css above would take precedence because it is being applied directly to the element.
