Yes, you need to unregister and re-register the vm via the cmd-line.<br />

The vm must have been added via the host rather than vcenter hence the error, and if it was created via the host in a DRS cluster, you also get the &quot;invalid&quot; error. Always create/add vm's via vcenter for ESX/ESXi hosts managed by vcenter.
