Bitlocker to go... server 2008

im trying to create a server 2008 GPO for bitlocker to go... reading online there should be an extra option in Group Policy Editor for  removeable drives?

....but there isnt? I can see Bitlocker policies but not removable drive....

Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Bitlocker Drive Encryption

I should have some some folders for 'removeable drive encryption'?   but i dont?

OS is Server 2008 std sp2.

I noticed the server doesnt have the role for Bitlocker encyrption - is this whats missing?

Install the role on the server and try editing the GPO from it. You should consider creating a central GPO store under the Sysvol to stop events like this. The full set of instructions are below.

As Bitlocker to go is a feature of server 2008 R2 and win7, 2008 server has no policies for it.
To use these policies, in fact all policies there are for windows clients up to win8 (8.1) to date, you would need to use RSAT on windows 8 (8.1). RSAT lets you connect to your DC and then, all policies are visible, an alternative to the central store.

If you have no win8 (or 8.1) ready, take win7, so you can at least modify policies for win7/server 2008 R2 or install win8 in a virtual machine.
