Outlook 2003 - IPad / IPhone

Hi

How can you configure outlook 2003 to work with IPhone / IPad?

From our I.T dept:.....
"We cant use a public facing domain and will have to access mail through the DMZ using VPN access.

Can only use one device to tunnel and are currently using blackberry"

Is this right?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If they are using Blackberry then that is your only option.

Not really enough information in your question to provide an answer. While it is usually possible to use an iPhone/ etc with Exchange 2003 (the version of Outlook doesn't matter) if they have locked it down so that Exchang eisn't exposed to the internet it isn't going to work.

Basically if you are looking for ammunition for the refusal of your IT department to allow to use your iPhone then this is the wrong place, we aren't going to be able to help.

Just need to know that what I am being told is right. If someone was to say "Hey.. do it like this..." Then I would offer that as a solution and not ammunition

It is impossible to know if what they have told you is right, without knowing how the environment is setup. That is not something that you (as an end user) is likely to know in the depth required to be able to asnwer.

The reason why you cant help is because I cant provide enough information which is understandable. Stating that I cant be helped because I may use the information against my I.T desk is none of your business. If you have appointed yourself information police then maybe you are in the wrong place?
