javascript for slides when mousing over text

In this article:

I want to have a section where I have 10 phrases on the left hand side of the screen (one line per phrase) and on the right I want a corresponding picture to pop up that matches the phrase that is being moused over.

Elements of this:

1. low file size. This article already has lots of images.
2. Classy - It needs to look as nice as possible.
3. Friendly to all modern browsers

You don't need scripting.

If you have a structure like:

<div class="holder">
   Some text
   <img src="someimage.png />
then CSS:
.holder {position:relative; width:200px;>
.holder img {display:none;}
.holder:hover img {display:block;position:absolute;left:250px;z-index:10;}

Then it should get you pretty close.

You can see something similar for the lop menu and side bar menu on my home page

Though on my page I use transition for the display.

What have you got so far that isn't working?

I'm starting from scratch. I haven't done javascript for 5 years. Perhaps there is a tutorial that would cover what I want. If I remember right, it's going to be fairly easy.
