getting "Unable to determine the DHCP Server version for the Server" when importing 2003 dhcp scope

We had an issue with our 2003 dhcp server, I needed to do a vmware snapshot back to 5months ago and now I need to import the currect backed up dhcp scope.

But I get the message when importing "Unable to determine the DHCP Server version for the Server"

Any thoughts, I got 100's of users down.

Thanks

what is the error with that command?
does the dhcp server show as authorized?  if not, unauthorize the server and authorize again

ok, so I'm back up. I didn't have the dhcp server running prior to the import. Also had to use netsh exec c:\xxx.txt to import.

Thanks for the help.

One question, I see alot of bad_addresses now in dhcp. I attached a screen shot.

Any thoughts?

look at the far right; it says it's already in use
you could have clients using that address where the lease hasn't expired yet from the previous issue
