Android App Programming - Beginner

I am looking to get started with programming games for android. I have found several links on EE about beginning programming but none have really been about game programming. I found the link below from a previous EE thread but what I would like to know from experienced programmers, is if they could do it again where would they start (YouTube channel, books, website, etc)? I have a background in programming in HTML, VB, and Visual C++, but I am brand new to Android. What is the best program/SDK to use for programming and similar newbie stuff.  I also am looking at one of the books below. Most are highly rated on Amazon but has anyone read them and are they useful? Thank you ahead of time.

Programming games is a big leap. You need to know how to code first. If you have programmed games in other languages first then maybe you could start with games. But all the games tutorials I have ever seen assume that you can already code. Just because the mobile is a small computer, do not expect it to be easy, or straight forward.

Videos 73 to 75 may give you a taste of what to expect.
