panasonic IP camera sound delay

I have some IP cameras around the house - they work fine sending email pictures when the postman calls etc.

I have recently started logging on to the master camera again (after a gap of some months) and now have a problem.

Before, the camera 'single view' page would be displayed, after a few seconds the picture would be displayed and a couple of seconds later the sound would start playing.

Now, the page comes up followed by the picture - but the sound commonly takes 9 minutes NINE MINUTES!! If I click on any of the camera controls in that time it crashes the browser. I can open other tabs and go elsewhere on those tabs during that time, but if I touch that page - crash. Also during that time the volume slider is missing too. (numbers 7 & 8 in the screenshot in the link below)

I have historically used chrome with i.e. tab (used to work) but I have also tried with I.E. itself with the same results.

The camera is a BL-C111 which has been updated to the latest firmware (made no difference)

This shows the camera and typical screenshot

Any idea what's the problem?

version of internet explorer?
Mark PrestonSystems EngineerAuthor Commented:
10.0.9200.. but it does the same in Chrome too. I'll try Firefox and see what happens also

Actually the Panasonic ip cam is an outdated equipment and its activex add-on will only work normally up to ie8.
Do You Have a Trusted Wireless Environment?

A Trusted Wireless Environment is a framework for building a complete Wi-Fi network that is fast, easy to manage, and secure.

In Firefox I get no sound ever (the area where the sound slider should be is greyed out) but it doesn't crash.

Ahh! really? I.E.8? Isn't the a 'legacy mode'? I don't want to have to replace all my equipment, it's expensive and works (worked!!) great.
Jackie ManCommented:
I have browsed through Panasonic support forums and it says the sound will only be available to Internet Explorer as the activex (ocx) add-on will only be run in IE. Chrome will work as some types of activex are allowed to run.
Jackie ManCommented:
Actually, your Panasonic IP cams are discontinued model and its supported download are only updated up to Jan 2010.

For your informaion, IE9 and IE10 final version has been released in 2011 and 2013 respectively and the security requirements for IE has been changed over time.

I do not think that there is a solution as the activex addon is for IE8 unless you can ask Panasonic to release an updated version of activex addon for IE10. Details are as follows:-

"for ActiveX or IEAddons that require only IE8 in order to run properly, NO.... use of these should be discontinued until such time they have been upgraded to meet the security requirements of later versions of IE..."

What you can do is to run the old version of IE in "XP mode" as an integrated app when you want to view and hear from the Panasonic IP camera.
