VMware image

I have a Vmware image I need to bring up stand alone as the Vmware server is no longer.
Is there a way to do this?

If not is there a way to extract files or covert to Hyper-v (.vhd)
I tried Microsofts conversion tool several times but when I try
to start in Hyper-v, Is says there was a disk error.

So you have the vmdk of the server you want to fire up?

You could try to convert to VHD using Starwind V2V

otherwise the best solution would be to use VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 5.1, and convert for use with VMware Workstation or VMware Player.
