reverse dns

Hi All,

I have had a clients email server reject mail sent from one of my domains.

Their IT guy provided this info.

SMTP Reverse DNS Mismatch      Warning - Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner

We own a vps on which the sending mail comes from.

what do I need to do?

Some forums suggest that we do not have a reverse DNS entry setup?

Any info would be great.

We are looking for help on what to do now.

You need PTR records for your email domains.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_DNS_lookup  I use DNSDataView http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/dns_records_viewer.html  to see all the listings in my DNS records.  Your PTR records will show there also.  Either you or your host/ISP need to create the appropriate records.
