Windows 7 Under VMWare Fusion - Corrupt Profile

Recently upgraded the domain from Windows 2000 SBS to Windows 2008 R2.  Using local profiles.  Over 30+ machines are working fine.

I have one user using a MacBook Pro running Windows 7 under VMware Fusion.  Since upgrading the domain this user has had his Windows 7 corrupted at least three times.  Deleted and re-created the profile each time.  Works okay for about a week.  He's using Microsoft Defender for antivirus, no new program installations.

It may be coincidental and have nothing to do with the Windows upgrade but did start shortly after that.  Any ideas?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do you have a second Mac to try?  If you have only one Mac, create multiple profiles (ie logon as user x and y).   When problem happens with user x, check and see if user y profile is also corrupted.  Issue might not be your domain but the.Mac itself.

No second Mac but we can create a second profile.  I'll try this and report back.

This problem stopped before the user had to sue the second profile to test.  Maybe it was a Windows Update, not 100% sure.
