HP Proliant Microserver gen8 with windows 7

I have installed this server and I have installed Windows 7 on it.

Everything seemed to work fine, so we have now started using this as fileserver, ftp server etc.

I wondered that especially AutoCad files where slow to open and save, and intalling teamviewer on the server revealed that something is indeed wrong with the network speed.

Working remotely on any computer in our network works nice and fast, but on the Microserver there is 1-2 seconds of delay on any command.

I have installed a network driver found on hp.com. There are only windows server editions to choose in their website.

My question is: Does anyone have the same experience with Microserver gen8 and Windows 7? Which network driver do you use?

I know that I could buy Windows Server, but now everything is implemented and I really don't want to move everything back on our old server and start all over again. It's just to disturbing for the clients on our network.

I would perform some tests using

Iometer for the network through-put and Wireshark to see what errors are occuring. I have used the Microserver extensively in my home labs and they perform well.

ASKER

Hi.
thanks, I will try iometer this evening when there are no one logged on.

Do you use one of these network drivers?
I use the NC107i PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Server Adapter with them, have also been able to add a QL2462 HBA card.
