Win 7 Adding a domain group to PC administrators without adding PC to the domain

I am creating a reference PC to sysprep and distribute. I do not want to add this reference PC to the domain.

However I do need a group of people (Servicedesk) adding to the local PC's administrators group before I sysprep it.

Is there a way I can do this without adding the PC to the domain ?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Wouldn't it be better/easier to do this via Group Policy instead?

No you cannot.  The best solution would be to have a GPO to add users/groups based onwhich OU the computer is in, based on OS, etc.

Hope that helps :)

If the machine is not in domain it will fail to resolve the domain user/goups while adding to local admin group,so manually also it is not possible,The best way is to add the machine to domain and then deploy gpo to add the user to local admin group as other suggested.
