Why does restart syslog so often on aix server? Every week syslog subsystem is stop couple time and need to restart again with command "startsrc -s syslogd" on one of aix server running on aix 6.1TL8. What is the main reason for this incident and what should be the proper procedure to fix the problem.

Thanks

kill and restart the daemon with "-D" option.

Make sure syslog.conf is readable.

And restart using :
/usr/sbin/syslogd -d -D -f /etc/syslog.conf

-d option is for debugging.
