Sql log shows backups every hour

I have a SQL 2008 R2 server that shows in the log that a backup is being done every hour.  I have a large backup that happens because of file changes between 8am backup and the 9am backup.  There is no maintenance plan.  Is there any other type of backup that could cause this kind of backup?  The largest database is about 11GB and this backup being sent offsite is over 4GB.  Any help would be great!

Have you checked scheduled tasks because you could perform backups running sqlcmd.exe.   Also mote that even though the database might be 11 GB in size but data.might be only 4 GB or that only transaction logs are backed up and not the DB.

back ups can be done thru scheduled tasks, sql server agent jobs, third party tools etc..

I checked the task scheduler and there is nothing in the system there.  The backups that run during the day don't cause any large file changes that are sent offsite only overnight so that the 8am backup is huge.

seems like there are some jobs like reindexing or bulk insert happening at the night which causes the huge trn log files, check for these sort of jobs under maintenance plans and sql agent jobs

Found that another program was hooking into SQL and completely changing the tables each night thus causing huge backups.  Thanks for the help.
