"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Both can add to bandwidth between switches and provide redundancy.
LACP is a negotiated protocol.

Is NIC Teaming the same as trunk and LACP?

jburgaardCommented:
Teaming NIC's can be made to match a trunk or LACP on a Procurve.

With NIC Teaming matched with an HP Trunk, does traffic coming out of the NIC Team flow accross both network cables or only one?

jburgaardCommented:
I would expect packets to flow in both cables distributed by an algorithm based on source-MAC & destination-MAC addresses.
