SharePoint 2010

I have a user using windows 7 who is trying to open a excel spreadsheet stored in a SharePoint 2010 document library, when he clicks on the document nothing happens then he gets a message saying the document cannot be found, it looks like it is looking for the document locally, When I or anyone else using windows 7 try to open the document it opens no problem. Is there a setting somewhere that needs changed so it looks for the document on the SharePoint server rather than his laptop?

There's also a browser settings I dimly remember in IE. Make sure their IE has the site in the trusted zone.

Are you all using the same browser version? I had a similar peculiar issue the other day because a user was using an old version of Chrome, but IE was fine.

He is using the latest version of IE, sorry forgot to mention that. Will take a look at the link you posted.

Since it is only on that particular computer, you might try Rebuilding the Office installation
