We use exchange 2007 and we had two different OUs in our AD and iam not sure how this was configured by my predecessors.
The users I create in the OU-1 the email address for Paul Jones was email@example.com
The users I create in the OU-2 the email address for Wilson Thomas was firstname.lastname@example.org
We had all the mailboxes for the OU-1 and OU-2 users in our exchange server.
Now the OU-2 users have completely built their own network with a different subnet with seperate mail server and have migrated all the mailboxes from our exchange server to their new mail server.
I was told that the email address format for Wilson Thomas had been changed to Wilson.email@example.com after they migrated to the new server within our premises.
Now if i send an email from my outlook to Wilson.firstname.lastname@example.org
I get abounced back message:
Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:
The recipient's e-mail address was not found in the recipient's e-mail system. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please check the e-mail address and try resending this message, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator.
When i send email from my personal hotmail account to Wilson.email@example.com it sucessfully delivers.
Any ideas why it the mail is getting bounced back when sent from firstname.lastname@example.org to email@example.com
On my Global Book still I have all the firstname.lastname@example.org email address.
Any help much appreciated.
