C#, asp.net, email tracking

Hi,

I am sending emails via c# string. There are multiple images in the email.
I want to be able to track in the DB that a particular image has been clicked
So what I have done wrapped the image around an ahref, and appended imageid to it.
But the problem is that of course when clicking the image it takes the user to the correct page www.xyz.com which of course has no code to track the image id.

Do I have to send it to a dummy page first before redirecting to the correct page ?

Or is there another solutions please help

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes if you cannot add the imageid tracking to your final page, you will need a dummy page and then after doing to DB update, you can redirect to the destination page.
