Want to record YouTube screen-capture HD video, but display won't do 1280 x 720

My new laptop (a MacBook Air running Parallels & Windows 7) doesn't have a desktop resolution of 1280 x 720. The closest I can get are 1280 x 800 and 1152 x 720. Ideally, I'd like to show my entire desktop when recording a YouTube HD video (1280 x 720), but that doesn't appear to be an option. I tried a 1280 x 800 desktop resolution with a 1280 x 720 video and lost a bit at the top. I also tried a 1152 x 720 desktop resolution with a 1280 x 720 video and ended up with some dead space on the left and right of the video image. Is this the best I'm going to do, or are there other options?
