iPhone Software Upgrade Undo

I upgraded my wife's iPhone 4S to IOS 7.  She doesn't like it as she has trouble seeing the more streamline text, i.e. the phone dialpad.  I tried some of the accessibility options, but none really helped.   I tried reverse colors, but the other apps and camera are not good.  Can I revert back to the prior OS?

Hello rreedy,

I think you are out of luck. Starting with iOS 7 and iPhone 4s Apple closed the signing window.
There is absolutely no way back to iOS6 any more!
(iPhone 4 does seem to be downgradable with saved SHSH Blobs); a plain downgrade is only possible with the Beta versions of any iOS until now.

I read this recently; but it is in German:

Not sure if I want to risk a reset and rebuild of the phone, but that's the only real choice if we are to change the appearance.  May opt for and upgrade to an non-iPhone - or await a patch that fixes the problem if enough people complain.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Hello rreedy,

I suppose you were able to restore the iPhone 4s to iOS6? Since my tries failed so far, could you post here how you did achieve this?
Thanks a lot!
@rreedy - Thank you for the update. I was happy to help to the extent that I was able to.

helge000,

I haven't been brave enough to try the restore option. Since your attempts have been unsuccessful, I'm not encouraged to try at this point. I'll give my wife some time to adapt to the new appearance - maybe such drastic action will not be needed.
