php5.3 upgrade deprecation issue

Can you tell me how to make this statement php5.3 compatible.
I'm assuming I have to use preg_match, but I don't know the correct syntax

preg_match requires pattern delimiters. After the last one, you can add pattern modifiers, such as i for ignore case.
