spread sheet VS CRM

Dear Experts:

We have implemented CRM for sales and customer care, development and UAT is completed , as usual there is a resistance in using, few top managers says spread sheet is faster and everything can be done in one sheet but in CRM need more steps to do a task.

can anybody please provide the list of advantages of CRM over spreadsheet.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

Most sales people see CRM systems as a waste of time. Excel is fast – but really that is all it has going for it. It’s difficult to organize data, hard to share and not very reliable.

With a proper CRM you have:
- The ability to schedule tasks
- Set reminders
- Chart call outcomes
- Track Campaigns
- Attach all important files (invoices, quotes, emails, letters etc) to the client record
- Manage your email
- Evaluate your sales pipeline at a glance and;
- Much, much more.

CRM is Built on 2 parts.
- Database and UI

CRM UI is used to create, update and report on facts. Which provides error free, smooth data entry, timely/accurate reports and above listed functionalities and much much more...

And the most part is security... The example would be- you do not want your bottom level employees to see data of your gold customers. Or you want to hide data from them for number of business reasons...
