Outlook 2007 - pst files

My OS is win 7 prof 74 bit and I have Outlook 2007, during an attack by a virus, my data files got corrupted and when I re installed my MSN email I lost some folders and possibly emails too.
I posted a separate Q on how to remedy this, and the suggestion is :
Your archive files are stored in .pst files. You can search your c:drive for *.pst and possibly add them back using Outlook options (data sources).

Thus, my question is what are the steps on how to do this.  Are there any step by step instructions to do this.  Thank u.

Please search your computer for .ost and .pst files, if you have them then you can attach pst files to outlook.
OST can be converted to pst by using an application.

Add a pst http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/outlook-help/import-outlook-items-from-a-personal-folders-file-pst-HA102538008.aspx
They says : "Your archive files are stored in .pst files. You can search your c:drive for *.pst and possibly add them back using Outlook options (data sources)."

1. Search on your disk with Windows Explorer all .pst files
2. Start Outlook
3. Select "File", "Open", "Outlook PST files"
4. Select the .pst file on your disk
