Does anyone know how to force a HD at the OS level (window server 2003,2008) to blink thus indicating the drives needs to be replaced? <br />

We are getting predictive failures and dispatch a tech to fix the drive in the san but of course they don't know which one it is and IBM is no help as are switching contracts.

IBM SAN issue

Storage devices include any device used for storing and retrieving digital information. Hard disk drives (HDDs) use one or more rigid ("hard") rapidly rotating disks (platters) coated with magnetic material. Data is accessed in a random-access manner, meaning that individual blocks of data can be stored or retrieved in any order and not only sequentially.
