IBM SAN issue

Does anyone know how to force a HD at the OS level (window server 2003,2008) to blink thus indicating the drives needs to be replaced?

We are getting predictive failures and dispatch a tech to fix the drive in the san but of course they don't know which one it is and IBM is no help as are switching contracts.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It's probably possible through whatever management utility IBM provides for your disk subsystem.   Since they make and have made many different SAN storage solutions, I think you won't find a knowledgeable answer until you tell us exactly which IBM SAN you have.
