Easiest way to migrate WSUS to a new server

I need the easiest way to move the WSUS database and settings to a new server. We are getting new hardware.

I tried doing this:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee822824(v=ws.10).aspx

What happens it is it tells me I need to download the "server migration tool" I cant download the powershell because the validation tool tells me its out of date and cant validate my Windows OS.

It also tells me to download "sql server management studio". I download it and run it then it tells me I need to get MS installer 4.5. So I go and download it then it gives me an error that "The updatebr.inf file is invalid".

I just need to get my updates and settings to the new server. Thanks for any help you can give.

Sorry im new to WSUS. How do I "Attach SUSDB database on new SQL server"? I dont see SQL server installed on my 2008 server box. I know WSUS uses a free version of SQL but I cant find it to attach. I transferred to SUSDB file to the new server, I just need WSUS to use it now. Thanks

so first you need to install SQL server on the new server. along with SQL management console

Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Express  ( free to use)

Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Management Studio Express

How to move WSUS from one server to another
http://blogs.technet.com/b/sus/archive/2009/07/02/how-to-move-wsus-from-one-server-to-another.aspx

In addition I will recommend instead of moving the WSUS database, wsuscontent etc.Just install WSUS role on new hardware and while configuring WSUS create replica. So that it get the patches downloaded locally from primary server.Once sync is completed you can make the new server as primary:http://exchangeserverpro.com/how-to-move-wsus-30-to-a-new-server/
